Troparion of St Finan tone 2

The image of God was preserved in thee O Finnan, for thou dist take up thy cross and follow Christ. Thou didst teach by thine example that the flesh is to be spurned as transient, while the soul needs great care as immortal. Wherefore Holy Finnan thou art rejoicing with the angels.

Feast day March 16 with a visit to St Finnan's Isle in Loch Shiel for a Molieben.

Our patron saints

 Saint Finnan  and Saint Nicholas.

Saint Finnan was a missionary bishop from Iona who died in 661. He lived and worked in this area along with Saint Columba.
Feast day February 17th.

Saint Nicholas was a bishop of Myra in Lycia (south west Asia Minor) who died in the 4th Century.
Feast day December 6th.

We are a small, friendly Orthodox Community located on the North Eastern edge of the Ardnamurchan Peninsula, at the end of the River Shiel, a beautiful land associated with many early saints and the beginnings of Christianity in Scotland.
